Best material for rainy climate?

Posted by Dave14 days ago

We're in the Pacific Northwest and everything gets moss and stains. Anyone have experience with which stone or finish holds up best? Looking at granite but not sure which type.

We're in Oregon. Went with dark grey granite - doesn't show the green stuff as much. Had it 8 years now, still looks ok. Just need to wipe it sometimes.

Dark grey is a good call. Avoid anything too light or polished if you get a lot of rain, imo.

Same. We're in Washington. Dark grey or black. Anything polished gets slippery and shows every streak. We tell clients that upfront.

Second the no-polish for wet climates. We had a client insist on polished and they were back a year later asking how to clean it. Not much you can do.

Thanks everyone. Dark grey, not too polished. Got it.
