Lead times – what do you quote clients?

How long do you guys quote from order to installation? We say 8–10 weeks but we're often done in 6. Don't want to overpromise and then stress. What's your standard lead time?

We quote 10–12 weeks. Usually deliver in 8. Clients are happy when it's early. If we quoted 6 and took 8 they'd be upset.

Same. We say 10 weeks. Gives us buffer for supplier delay or busy period. Underpromise overdeliver.

We do 8–10. For custom or complex we say 12. Never had a complaint about being early.

We quote 10. If we're slammed we're still ok. If we're quiet we look like heroes. Win win.

12 weeks for custom. 8 for standard. We had one supplier delay last year and we were glad we'd quoted 12.
