Importing stone from overseas – anyone with experience?

Thinking about importing stone – e.g. black from China or similar. Has anyone actually done it? How does it work with customs, lead times, quality? If anyone has experience and is willing to share I'd appreciate it.

We looked into it a few years ago. Lead time was long and quality was hit and miss. Ended up sticking with local suppliers. Might be different now though.

Same. We had one batch that was great and one that had cracks. Didn't want to risk it again. If you try it start small.

A mate of mine tried it. Customs held the container for 3 weeks. By the time it landed the job had gone. So factor in delay and have a backup supplier.

We get labrador from Norway sometimes. That's different – quality is consistent. Asia was too unpredictable for us.
